EFT - Emotional Freedom Techniques

Emotional Freedom Techniques is an Energy Psychology process developed by Gary Craig that works with the mind-body energy system to (often totally) eliminate all kinds of emotional, mental, physical and spiritual discomfort. Described as "an emotional, needle-free form of acupuncture," it is an effective way to balance the body's energy system. The basic principle of EFT is:

The underlying cause of all negative emotions is an imbalance in the body's energy system.

EFT is fast becoming the most popular meridian therapy. Adverse life experiences affect how we feel physically and emotionally and EFT can restore emotional and physical balance by tapping into the body's meridian energy system. Conditions helped are varied and include: stopping smoking, weight issues, anxiety, panic attacks, anger, depression, phobias, PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), addictions, insomnia, confidence issues, exam stress, and many other conditions. EFT is gentle enough for use with children and during pregnancy and birth.

EFT is based on the discovery by Dr. Roger Callahan that emotional discomfort is caused by a disruption in the mind/body energy system. Dr. Callahan combined ancient wisdom (acupuncture) with modern techniques (kineseology) and developed Thought Field Therapy (TFT). Gary Craig was trained by Dr. Callahan and then streamlined TFT into Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT).
